How to get to Acciaroli
By car
From Naples and Salerno: A2 motorway to the Battipaglia exit, then the SS18 dual carriageway towards
Agropoli-Paestum to the Agropoli Sud exit; from there about 30 km of road to Acciaroli. From Naples it is about
140 km (around 2 hours).
Parking: the B&B has no private parking; there is free street parking (white lines) 200-500 metres
away. Detailed directions on the How to get here page.
By train
There is no railway in Acciaroli. The nearest station is Agropoli-Castellabate, on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria line. From the station take bus line 34 (about one hour to Acciaroli) or a taxi.
By bus: line 34
Busitalia Campania line 34 connects Acciaroli with Agnone, Montecorice,
Castellabate (San Marco and Santa Maria), Agropoli, Paestum, Battipaglia and Salerno. In Acciaroli the terminus is
Acciaroli Porto, about 200 metres from the B&B. Acciaroli to Agropoli takes about 50 minutes.
On weekdays there are several runs a day, some only on school days; on Sundays and public holidays there are few.
Direct Naples - Acciaroli bus (July and August only), 2026 timetable:

By plane
The nearest airports are Salerno Costa d'Amalfi (Pontecagnano, about 80 km) and Naples Capodichino (about 150 km). From both, the easiest option is a rental car, or reach Salerno and take the train to Agropoli.
Acciaroli off season
The B&B is open all year. From October to May Acciaroli is a quiet little fishing village, with lower prices and the sea still there to enjoy. Good to know: in winter many beach clubs and some restaurants are closed, buses are less frequent and breakfast at the B&B is included only from June to September.
The village and the harbour
The harbour with the fishing boats, the seafront and the old centre with the Annunziata church and the medieval tower. In the 1950s the writer Ernest Hemingway stayed in Acciaroli more than once.
Pioppi and the Mediterranean Diet Museum
About 3 km away is Pioppi, the village where the American scientist Ancel Keys studied and lived for many years: this is where the "Mediterranean diet" was born. In Palazzo Vinciprova, by the sea, you will find the Living Museum of the Mediterranean Diet and the Museo Vivo del Mare (sea museum). Opening hours change during the year: check before you go.
Walks and hikes
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for walking.
- The Pollica villages loop: old paths linking Cannicchio, Galdo, Celso and Pollica, with the castle
of the Capano princes.
- From Cannicchio to Marina di Canniclo: through Mediterranean scrub down to the sea, towards Torre
del Caleo. Hiking shoes are needed.
- Monte Stella (about 1,130 m): the mountain above Acciaroli, with views over the whole Cilento coast.
The trails are in the Cilento National Park: check their condition before you set off.
Day trips
The Greek temples of Paestum (about 45 km), the ruins of Velia in Ascea, the village of Castellabate; further south Palinuro and the coast of Marina di Camerota.
